Conceptualized in 2012, Manhattan-born producer James England began his career in music, now going by the alias “MANTRABLU”. Flatbush-fed, his debut works encompassed his Brooklyn upbringing, alongside his initial inspirations found in early productiontion choices by Drake and Kendrick Lamar, to formulate a gritty, heavily sample based, hip-hop production style. Through years of experimentation while immersing himself in 80’s aesthetics and the roots of Vaporwave, Jazz, and Purple Sound, MANTRABLU has honed his music into a more vibrant, yet aggressive take on Hip-Hop and Soul, most notably featured in tracks such as “PERSONAL FINESSING”, “ANTHEM TO MY SORROWS”, and “GOLDENHOUR”. A rising star, MANTRABLU has proven himself capable of keeping a crowd engrossed with a number of live performances under his belt, as well having his music featured several times on Beats 1 Radio show, “Soulection Radio”.
